Just purchased a touring bike for some wild camping adventures this year. Will be mainly west coast of Scotland. Just looking for any tips or products I should use on the bike for protection as it will be outside in all weather conditions for up to 3 maybe 4 weeks at a time...

Eh? Just keep the drivetrain clean and the chain well oiled.

I would imagine that your priorities for a 3 to 4 week tour in Scotland should be protecting you from rain, not the bike.

Have fun!

Just keep the saddle dry and the mechanicals clean and lubed.

On dry days you will be fine for weeks

On really wet days its worth giving the brakes, headset and similar a wipe with baby wipes and having a small old rag with some spray like GT85 and run it through the chain & mechs to clean it , followed by wet lube on the chain. Should take only circa 5 mins and gives you a chance to do a safety check on bike and spot any issues before they leave you stranded.

My commute contains some grim lanes & tracks over winter I used to do the following after every wet commute, otherwise when i used the bike the next day you could hear the moving parts groan! If its dry or mainly dry you can go for weeks with only a couple of bits of lube on the chain
