Hi Guys,

My Bike is currently hooked up to the Turbo trainer in a carpeted location so I'm loathed to put my normal lube on it as this flicks everywhere.

What do people use to lubricate their chains on their turbo trainer bikes? I need something with minimal fling.

Thanks, Andrew.

Just use a dry lube.
Muck Off is great.

Although seeing the heading I thought this should have been in the Medical section......

And you don't really need as much lube for inside use as outside - there is less requirement from the protection perspective

Be mean with a good dry lube and you shouldn't get any on the carpet

Don’t you sweat all over the carpet? On the rare occasion I use my turbo, it will be in the depths of winter, and I’m in an unheated uninsulated garage with just a pair of bibs on, in front of a floor standing fan, with sweat pouring off me, so the thought of moving inside is a complete non-starter...

Yep - it's yucky for me too. Put a trainer mat down (gash piece of carpet)
On a bike that only used on a trainer, you could grease the chain with melted grease, wipe off when cool etc. That won't fling.

Thanks chaps. I imagine you're doing longer sessions than me. I only manage to grab 15 minutes here and 30 minutes there. Enough to get hot but not enough to be dripping at the speeds I can manage. It will probably be more of an issue when I can go faster but I've never been much of a sweaty guy..

I do have a piece of board under me and the bike but it's only big enough to deal with sweat and some of the chain lube. I could see it getting flung further back and I was out of chain lube anyway so it was the right time to ask.

Should be turning up today/tomorrow.
