New wheelset advice
Discussion
Hi all,
After a bit of advice. I've got a set of Mavic Ksyriums on my current ride that I have been really happy with, though they are getting to the end of their life now and will bung them on the bike that sits on the turbo..
Set out to replace them and thought I'd buy more of the same. I'm a firm believer the if a deal seems too good to be true, then it probably is, but I have found a pair on eBay, brand new with a Campag freehub for £149 with free shipping from Hong Kong.
The seller has decent feedback, but I'm thinking i'm going to get some shonky Chinese rims with 'Mavic' stickers stuck on them, or am I just being paranoid?

I'd not heard of a Mavic sub model called Equipe - a quick Google turns up reviews from 2011 and 2013, so it's going to be old stock. Whilst wheels haven't changed much in 8 years (still round!), could be a problem getting any Mavic specific parts as they sometimes use old spoke lengths.
I had those wheels on my bike until recently, but they were bought from Chain Reaction in 2014/15 (I think). The poster above is correct that the particular model is fairly old now, so will be slightly different to the current mavic range (narrower rims being the obvious one).
I found them pretty good, made a nice noise. The rear hub did need servicing a couple of times a year though. Replaced them in the end as the spokes started to corrode and buying a new set of spokes costs more than a new set of wheels (ish).
