I’ve recently got a Tacx Flux Smart trainer to replace my 20year old dumb trainer and trying to understand how it works better, so please bear with me and any advice gratefully received.

I’ve downloaded the Tacx app, and worked out how to creat workouts and then how to see these during a session.

My initial questions are;
- is there a better app to create and run workouts (not really interested in Zwift etc at this stage)

- as I understand it if I say I want to pedal at 200watts for 10minutes then within reason it will make me pedal at 200w for the 10minutes, so if I increase my cadence to 120 then it will ease off the resistance whereas if I slow my cadence down to 60 then it will increase resistance - is this correct?

- is there a way to modify the workout during the workout? I’m really meaning a way to adjust the target wattage, up or down, for example if I am on session but for whatever reason unable to sustain the power target can I ease it off?

1) Trainerroad and Zwift are probably the best and most supported. I was skeptic of Zwift to start with but find it one of the best to stay focused.

2) Only if you select 'Ergo' mode

3) Depends on the app you're running, I think you can on Zwift.
