Skoda Kodiaq bike rack recommendations
Discussion
I’ve just order a couple of mountain bikes for me and the wife and need a decent bike rack for the Kodiaq.
Unfortunately I don’t have a tow bar attached to the car so it’s roof rack or one that sits on the back.
If it makes any difference I’ve ordered a Carrera vengeance for myself and a Apollo spiral for the wife.
Many thanks

Sea suckers are about the best no scraping or flapping bikes .
Thanks stuarthat ive had a look at these on google and they look like a fantastic product. For me they are a a bit over what I would ideally like to pay, especially if I go for one that can take 3 bikes.
Thanks

not sure if you can still get it, or if skoda still do it, but this might work for you

Having used all methods of carrying a bike, the only one I would use is a tow bar mounted rack from Thule or Witter.
Tow bar for the Skoda probably isn't that expensive. maybe £300 fitted? The Thule or Witter racks are around £200-£300 for two/3 bike rack.
Tow bar racks are quick to fit and the easiest to get bikes on and off. No climbing on the seats to heave the bike up on the roof.

Forget a roof bar mounted carriers - you'll not be wanting to heft an Apollo bike that far into the air!! They're proper heavy bits of kit,
If there's any chance, I'd recommend she gets something like the womens version of the Carrera vengeance. At the price point of the Spiral, with full suspension, every component will be properly cheap and nasty. She'll hate riding it. And it looks like it's a 3x6 setup which means she'll be constantly shifting across chainrings which isn't anywhere near as nice/easy as shifting across a cassette.

Thanks for the advice, believe me I tried to convince her in the shop to go for something better, there was a carrera sulcat or something that was only £40 more but she was having none of it so the spiral was purchased! As per my post above I’ve gone for a Thule Backpac 2 so hoping it’s not too difficult to mount the bikes on that.
Got a Saris Bones 3 bike carrier which works well enough.
It isn't as easy as a tow bar or heftier rack, but you can play around with the arms on it so it fits multiple cars - might be worth considering if you ever need to chuck the bikes on another car?
Have had it both on the Z4 and her Astra.
