Hi, Probably an annual question.....

I have a pair of Specialized sport road shoes (cheap summer), which i have been persevering with for the past couple of winters, along with some Castelli Diluvio C Overshoes 16, paired up with some Castelli Quindici Soft 15cm Cuff Wool Sock. (I like Castelli....).

I don't commute, so it's social club rides, and social exercise in most to all conditions. My feet are still cold, and it's impacting my enjoyment for longer Sunday rides.

Any recommendations for winter road shoes? I am looking at the Northwave brand currently.

I get cold feet, and it is below zero here right now.

I use Northwave Celsius Artic, which is the MTB version, but I commute in them on road.

I recommend them. Feet are dry, and more importantly for me, warm.

Sizing was accurate.

Winter boots are great - I have some sidi ones, only problem I found was that one your feet are toasty you start to think about the next place that's cold!!

Northwave boots have been the de facto winter footwear for some years now.

I will get another pair when this pair wears out (3rd winter and still look to have plenty of life in them yet)

My default winter road boots were Specialized defrosters, with the road soles. They don’t make them anymore though. So I’ve changed the pedals on one of my road bikes, to these

Which I also have on my Hybrid.

Then I got some of these.

Which are the defroster boots with 2 bolt SPD cleat fittings.

I also have a pair of North wave Flash arctic GTX, which I find are no where near as good at keeping my feet dry and warm in really poor conditions, as the Spesh boots, but the North Waves are less ‘clunky’.

The looks are "challenging" and they're not cheap but they certainly do work.
