Nightmare day today. It started with a puncture, and somehow, with cold wet hands, I managed to cross-thread the thru axle. I cobbled it together and took the short route home.

I then decided to re-cut the threads with some oil and carefully winding the axle in and out of the hanger. This didn't go as planned.

Having never bought these type of components before, I'm a bit unsure as to exactly what I need.

I assume X12 implies diameter? What is 47.16? Is it the length?

How about the hanger? Are they all a standard size and shape?

It's a 2017 Cube Attain SL Disk with Shimano 105 if it makes a difference.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

(Title supposed to say derailleur but android auto corrected my incorrect spelling to the wrong word)

BETD for your hanger and speak to Cube about the exact thru axle replacement.
Don't risk bodging something that might work.

I run brand x from Chainreactioncycles front and rear on my Commencal and Rockshox forks.

Thoroughly recommend the brand x and cheap.

Hi, I have done exactly the same thing with the same results.

Find your bike here for the correct hanger (the hanger will be fine, its the bracket that attaches it to the frame you have cross threaded): https://www.cube.eu/fileadmin/user_upload/document...

You can then order the hanger and its attachment here: https://www.durham.cubebikestore.eu/components/der... or here: https://www.bike-discount.de/.

The thru axle is made by Syntace and is a direct swap for the Cube branded version. This 142mm x12 axle will work : https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/syntace-x-12-t...

I found that Cube customer service was awful, the hanger took 8 weeks to arrive so I ended up sourcing it from eBay.
