MTB recommendations for 7yr old girl
Discussion
My 7yr old daughter is currently riding a Frog55 which is too small for her, so time to look for a replacement.
She has been riding for years and worked her way from a balance bike, frog48 to the current frog55.
At the weekend she jumped on my wifes Specialized Myka and to our surprise rode off down the street on it. We were surprised she had the reach but she managed the brakes and also to steer. Getting on/off was the only issue but im sure she will grow into it. I think the Myka is extra small in size.
I have made enquiries regarding a Whyte403 and we are going to try one at the weekend. We have been told that a 26" shouldn't really 'fit' a 7yr old, but we will see on the day.
What other bikes should we look at? There is the Frog62 and Islabike Creig24/26 that i know of, but im wondering what else there is?

Don't know personally but my son is also on a Frog 55 and getting too big for it. Was probably going to go for the next size up Frog (62) but I'd check his inside leg first to see if he'd fit a Frog 69. Brilliant bikes for the money but I guess once you get to something with 26" wheels then it opens up a lot of other possibilities?
Another vote for the Whyte. We bought one for my Son to replace an Islabike Creig and it has lasted him 2 years so far and has much more to go. It has taken everything that he has thrown at it including some downhill, day long trails and school journeys. It’s so good that I am trying to convince his younger sister to get one (but she wants a different colour to her brother)... Going shopping today to give it one more go.
If anyone else is looking for an MTB for younger kids, I picked up a 2018 Kona Shred 24" recently for £440.
It hasn't been ridden yet but seems a decent all rounder on the face of it and might be worth adding to your shortlist.

Just to conclude this thread.
Santa brought a Whyte 403.
We did a 8 mile ride along the sea front at Blackpool on Boxing day, so she could get a feel for the bike and we could play with saddle heights.
This afternoon, we did a 3 mile ride round the local area where she was screaming (with laughter) coming down a hill. She rode back up it to do it again.
Next stop Rivington.
