So always write a list of bits I need each month and use my BC code to get the 10% off at CRC, this month wanted about £300's worth of bits so should be £270 bill, log on BC and it's "£10 off for £150 spend", WTF? To add insult, that code doesn't even work, says I don't qualify. Every month CRC seems to have less stock, worse deals and now this. Is wiggle just killing it off. It sucks when a good business gets bought and ruined by a crap one.

Original CRC people please start a new business, a thinly disguise CRC of 2 years ago where there was more choice than anywhere else, was cheaper than anywhere AND -10% for BC members, PLEASE!

I believe BC have changed all their discount deals with retailers i.e. CRC, Halfords etc. So not sure you can blame Wiggle/CRC!

Halfords is now a 10% voucher, that you have to go online to get, that you can use once a month, and only on cycling stuff.

I'm sure you don't 'need' some of the stuff on your big list. I'm a BC member and I expect the discount scheme to have many caveats. However I purchased it mainly for the insurance not to get discounts from shops.

I feel your pain mate! I posted the same on this thread a few days back:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

CRC has been getting crapper for a while. It used to be that they would actually run their own 10%/15% discount codes which were sent out on email (and prompted me to spend a fortune with them), then they stopped those and their daily emails would just have vague claims like "up to 50% off clothes", which is meaningless really if you don't state prices.
For example, todays email; "Save up to 50% on brakes".
I need a Zee rear brake to match my recent Zee front purchase. Check the price: £109.99. That's actually £13 higher than they have been selling it recently!
Evans have it for £98.64 though, and think we still get 10% off there through B/C.

Not quite - From B/C website:

"Discount can only be used once per transaction but may be used as many times during the month."

(yes - I noticed the bad grammar/typo too)

I know a few people who've bought big ticket stuff - bikes, high-end suspension forks, etc and used that extra 10% on an already discounted price. Unsustainable presumably.

If you look at the finances of Wiggle / CRC / Evans and the like then the answer to why they aren't able to continue to be so generous with discounts on their normal prices would be staring you in the face - they can't really afford to with the overheads etc. they are trying to sustain.

Doesn't that sum up the entire retail sector right now?

I have a feeling, completely anecdotally and with zero proof, that since their merger prices have slowly climbed and are generally higher than before when they had to compete with one another. I usually buy parts from other places now because you can find a better bargain from other stores if you hunt around.
