Wow what a difference new bar tape and fresh groupset makes to a bike.

I've been getting back into riding after spending an embarrassing amount so I can use Zwift in the garage (c. £700) which I'm really enjoying and starting to loose weight.

But my Tarmac which is 10 years old next year just fell apart and showed its age.. and all those things I had been putting off I had to sort out.

A bit more money later I've got a new groupset (went down a groupset to Tiagra), new handle bars (has a slight rise for comfort), bar tape and new headset.

It's like a new bike!

Haven't put it into the flux but will try it out tonight.

If your on the fence just do it. I'm pleased I didn't spend another 2k.

Just wondering if I should rebuild my Orange 5 (again 10 years old).

It's like when you treat your car to a really good valet. Suddenly it feels quieter and faster again...

Haha.. I did also wipe it down with car detailing gear... The only thing I'm still not sure about is my saddle.

Two years ago I bought a fairly expensive Prologo saddle but in a 134 width.. never got on with it and thinking not going back to my trusted Spesh Saddle...

But I'll give it 2 months and see how I feel as it's an expensive game buying saddles.

It’s amazing what a refresh on the oily bits, and contact points will do.
