Training ant+ dongles

Had a go at this road racing thing yesterday and had a great time, but it has highlighted I am in no way fit enough.

I currently have a dumb trainer, speed, cadence sensors and a oldish lappy which should run zwift. Before I spend lots of cash on a)power meter or b) smart trainer I want to test zwift/sufferfest will run on the hardware for which I need a dongle.

If ant+ is a standard should be fine, has anyone tried similar ones or should I just get a Garmin/Wahoo branded one?

I bought a generic eBay one and it's been fine
