Think I did most of it when I rode the Grand Depart Stage 1

A tad unadventurous perhaps?

Great stuff. BBC article with maps here... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/45652199

I lived in Ripon for two years, so I know some of the roads up there very well indeed. Nice to see the route for the Elite Men's Time Trial going through Grewelthorpe and Kirkby Malzeard.

It's September in the UK though. It's either going to be absolutely lovely, or Amber Weather Warnings galore. Place your bets now... wink

Hopefully will get a Yorkshire course to ride on Zwift as they have with Richmond and Innsbruck

Wonder how often they'll programme it to rain?

Haha probably every time I log on!!! Seriously the only thing needed to make Zwift complete is a USB smell maker so if you ride by a coffee shop you get a whiff of coffee, just got to hope they never take us passed the sewage farm!!!

Have you considered a strongly worded letter to your local MP?

Where do you live that manages to be directly affected by all 4 days of the TDY?

On a related topic, the BBC commentator just described the womens road race world championships as "the biggest race of them all". Now, if we put to one side the issue of stage races and assume he means single day races, is not the Olympic road race "bigger" since it only happens ever 4 years? Perhaps I'm just proposing that because I always think cycling world championships are totally devalued by happening every year. Does any other sport have a world champs every year?

Tennis and its season-ending ATP finals tournament/Davis cup? I suspect FIFA would quite happily have the World Cup every year if they could biggrin

Do you think you’ll manage to make alternative plans okay with a years notice.

Reminds me of events locally which happen the same time every year with the same roads shut every year.

Yet there’s still a mass of people who expect to travel without disruption on these roads at these times and always moan/comment about the traffic problems.

After the 3 grand tours the next biggest events for me are the big classics with the Paris-Roubaix at the top of them, then the world championship, so maybe the 7th or 8th most important race on the calendar.

lol the depth of talent in womens field is just not there for a long course, the race the other day was already a total farce, let alone something another 2 hours longer.

Imagine back in 2012 suggesting that the World Championship route was a tad unadventurous because it mimicked the TdF Grand Depart held five years earlier biggrin

Living in Harrogate I'm really looking forward to it, I hope the weather holds up as the whole area looked spectacular last weekend.

Not entirely convinced on the circuit they have chosen although I've a feeling that Greg Van A might disagree biggrin
