World Championships in Yorkshire 2019

Great stuff. BBC article with maps here... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/45652199
I lived in Ripon for two years, so I know some of the roads up there very well indeed. Nice to see the route for the Elite Men's Time Trial going through Grewelthorpe and Kirkby Malzeard.
It's September in the UK though. It's either going to be absolutely lovely, or Amber Weather Warnings galore. Place your bets now...

Hopefully will get a Yorkshire course to ride on Zwift as they have with Richmond and Innsbruck
Wonder how often they'll programme it to rain?
Haha probably every time I log on!!! Seriously the only thing needed to make Zwift complete is a USB smell maker so if you ride by a coffee shop you get a whiff of coffee, just got to hope they never take us passed the sewage farm!!!Wonder how often they'll programme it to rain?
On a related topic, the BBC commentator just described the womens road race world championships as "the biggest race of them all". Now, if we put to one side the issue of stage races and assume he means single day races, is not the Olympic road race "bigger" since it only happens ever 4 years? Perhaps I'm just proposing that because I always think cycling world championships are totally devalued by happening every year. Does any other sport have a world champs every year?

Great, another 9 days of disruption to add the the 4 days for the TDY.
Wingo.
Do you think you’ll manage to make alternative plans okay with a years notice.Wingo.
Reminds me of events locally which happen the same time every year with the same roads shut every year.
Yet there’s still a mass of people who expect to travel without disruption on these roads at these times and always moan/comment about the traffic problems.

After the 3 grand tours the next biggest events for me are the big classics with the Paris-Roubaix at the top of them, then the world championship, so maybe the 7th or 8th most important race on the calendar.numtumfutunch said:
Think I did most of it when I rode the Grand Depart Stage 1
A tad unadventurous perhaps?
Imagine back in 2012 suggesting that the World Championship route was a tad unadventurous because it mimicked the TdF Grand Depart held five years earlier A tad unadventurous perhaps?
Living in Harrogate I'm really looking forward to it, I hope the weather holds up as the whole area looked spectacular last weekend.
Not entirely convinced on the circuit they have chosen although I've a feeling that Greg Van A might disagree
