Any ideas and experiences?

Slovenia is flipping great for mountain biking and food and beer and scenery and lakes and hospitality and......... well, you get the idea!

I went a couple of years ago with mates and hooked up with a Slovenian mate and his riding mates out there. I was amazed how much riding they have in such a small country. Worth noting that we were based in Ljubljana, had the use of a van and a lot of local knowledge. I would recommend a local guide but never used any but I'm sure someone will be along with suggestions. Lots of technical, steep and rocky trails, bike parks, natural trails and much more. The riding can be challenging (depending on your type of riding) if you want it to be.

Lots and lots of other stuff to do in Slovenia too. Ljubljana is a lovely small city, national parks are well worth a visit. I like my food and the food was exceptional, many of the places we ate sourced all nearly all of their ingredients from within 10kms. Ljubljana is awash with restaurants and if you push the budget you will be amazed.

We visited Croatia (Krk) too and that was great riding too.

This is encouraging. I got tired of Les Arcs a few years ago. Even the previous secret out in the middle of nowhere trails and you'd bump into groups of riders and post let boomerang the food was chips chips and dodgy beer.
