Emonda SLR6 2018 or Tarmac SL6 Expert Disc?
Discussion
Interested to hear thoughts on which they'd choose from:
Trek Emonda SLR6 2018 circa £3.3k
or
Specialized Tarmac SL6 Expert Disc circa £4k
Or
Would an Aero bike still make more sense for overall speed (even on hilly routes)?
Feel free to add other options for the money

Quite right, it’s not got fishing gear for a groupset.https://www.bianchistore.de/en/bianchi-infinito-cv...

OK some great input.
I currently ride a 54" 2012 Specialized Roubaix Elite, which is my first road bike.
I'm a runner, turned rider. Only upto 3,200 miles this year.
Usually ride in the Chilterns circa 40-60 miles and 2-4k feet per ride. Quite up and down.
Probably average 19mph over a 3k feet, circa 40 miles in 2h.
Travel wise, yes I've been out to the Alps this summer in Morzine and did the Col De Joux Plane and Joux Verte (plenty of climbing).
Not convinced an aero bike would be any quicker on the hills so felt a lighter race focused bike would allow me to climb and decend quicker.

It is a big gap from potenza on that Bianchi to record / super record
I prefer campag over shimano generally, but that is personal preference rather than anything bad about decent shimano stuff
But di2 / eps is so much better than mechanical that I’d go so far as to say I’d take ultegra di2 over super record mechanical

I've recently upgraded from a 2013 Tarmac to the Emonda SL6 Disc, mainly because I wanted disc brakes.
The Emonda is very slightly more relaxed than the Tarmac, without being a full-on endurance geometry. I found my Tarmac put me in a very aggressive position, which was fine for shorter rides, but now I've built my mileage up I wanted something I could cope better with over 100+ miles.
Done about 700 miles on the Emonda so far and very happy with it. Tracks well, really stable and no flex when putting the power down.
One thing to check with the Emonda is the semi-integrated seatpost, which doesn't give the range of a normal setup, It's an easy swap if you need more length though (fnaar).
Both are great bikes. Get Evans to order them in and go for test rides on each I'd say.
Not sure I could get on with that camo paint job on the Specialized though...
