Help way to much choice out there!!

My commuter cheap ass steel framed single speed bike was stolen and i miss cycling so much and keen to take it on as proper hobby (bike won't be for commuting)

I've researched and i'm fine with aluminium as with my budget carbon frames have the cheaper components.

Some great deals out there which are tempting me away from second hand... Rather not spend a 1k if not necessary so i've added some circa £700 pound bikes.

For a grand I’d be looking at Planet X or boardman, possibly canyon? I think the entry level endurace might start around that price?
2nd hand, I’d be looking for a specialized roubaix, should be able to find a good for 1k and if you don’t get into it, should be easy enough to punt on.
Almost a bit more info might help, what sort of riding do you want to be doing, start racing? A steady 50 miles? Joining the local chaingang?

Picked up a cannondale CAAD 8 claris yesterday for £230.00 used very good condition 2016 model.

I'm sure the caad8 is a great frameset.
