Garmin pairing issues

I purchased a Garmin explore Edge 820 recently, I'm having issues with it connecting to my phone.

I've tried all the trouble shoots on the garmin website etc, I just can not get it to connect, fails to pair everytime I try to add the divice to the Garmin Connect app.

Any ideas? The 820 is new and unused, finds the phone and try to pair, just fails at the end.

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app?
This has worked for mine a few times, usually after an update iirc.
