I'm having a bit of a clear out and I want to sell the Small (I think, the sticker's worn out) Specialized Allez frame that I've had for a few years. It's too small for me to ride anyway and it's taking up space.

Trouble is I have no idea what year it's from. There are a couple similar decal pattern but different colour schemes and with the Sport suffix on ebay, and the owners of those don't know how old they are either. Like this one:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-racer-Specializ...

And the one below is mine:

Any ideas?

I am not sure whether to stick wheels and a saddle on it, new chain, etc. and sell as a full bike or as the frame, ideas appreciated on this too.

Nice - I can imagine she'd be a great ride.

PM me her number and I'll come over with some roses and champers later on. Or is she more of a Cava girl?

Oh, not that sort of date. Sorry. I'll be off then .... paperbag

I very, VERY nearly put "...not like that" in the title but then I thought nah, no one would stoop that low.

It looks like the 2007/2008 paint. You can check the size by measuring the seat tube length.

As it's currently summer it might sell as a 'ride-away' with a pair of wheels/tyres and a saddle on on it. (?)

Call their customer services, the last letter of the frame number is the year of manufacture.

I called them to find out if I had a narrow SL4 S-Works frame or not.

Thank you, I will try that.

The last letter of the frame number on mine is a 2! Or is that a serial number?! See below:

Interesting shout, I think it's earlier as it has a decal at the seat tube / top tube join saying "Designed on a Sun Microsystem" which you wouldn't be shouting about in 2007 I don't think.

I checked Bikepedia and couldn't find it, as above think it's earlier than the model that you've posted.

P.S. The rideaway idea is becoming more appealing as I've found two Schwalbe cyclocross tyres and a red Giant seat lying around that I forgot I had.

Cheers for the input though.

So this is embarrassing...

I just checked Bikepedia again, chose Specialized as the brand and for sts and giggles selected 2000 as the year and Allez A1 as the model:

https://www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx...

Boom. It's a 2000 Specialized Allez A1.

Thanks for the guesses and apologies for not being able to use the internet properly laugh

"Designed on a Sun Microsystem"

Haha!! I like that. Is it a brag or an apology?

I remember using them at uni in around 2000 which is why I thought the bike would have been from around then - I never got on with Linux on those machines.
