Hi Chaps,

I have a Giant Tallon 29er which has Shimano brakes.

I need some new pads, I've taken the old ones off the front and 2B299 0 printed on them.

I can't seem to match this up with anything. Does anyone know where I can find out?

Kind regards,

Andrew

What year is the bike? any pics of the caliper?

Probably need shimano E01s (sintered) or B01s pads (resin)

Looks like the Talon 1 came with either Shimano M395 or M315 depending on the year.
Talon 2 is either Shimano M395 or Tektro calipers depending on the year
Talon 3 seems to be Tektro only.

So looks like you've got either a Talon 1 or a newer Talon 2

Same pads for both Shimano calipers - B01 Resin or E01 sintered (check which rotors you have - may be labelled resin only).

My M395s came with 160mm SM-RT56-M resin only rotors so used B01.

Following link should help determine your rotor - do a search for Disc brake caliper and Rotor compatibility
