I had a stupid incident of pulling out at a junction when a scooter was coming through. Completely my fault as I just did not see him. He managed to slow down but he hit me towards the rear side on and the bike has taken some damage. Not sure how serious the damage is. The scooter rider was cool about it and after checking I was OK he just rode off.

I have insurance but wondered if they are likely to pay out if it was my fault? I cannot read anything in the policy to say that they would refuse but wondered if other people have any experience of making claims? If the damage will make it expensive to repair or if the frame is knackered I may have to claim.

How is your bike insured? Is it a separate policy or part of your contents? You will need to have cover for accidental damage, and there may be a reduction in the claim value for wear and tear (not all policies cover bikes on a new for old basis). Basically - go and read your policy, any answers on here won't be with any knowledge of your policy.
