Has anyone got one and how is it ?

How is the customer experience with Canyon in general?

I am looking at the £2,700 CF8.

I can't speak for that bike, however I can say that Canyon were brilliant to deal with and I had no issues with them.

I have two Canyons - a CF SLX roadie and a Grand Canyon MTB.

If I were to buy another bike it would be a Canyon Spectral.

Great bikes.

Aeroad here..

Bad experience ordering the bike, due to a technical issue and lies with a few of their team. However in the end they put it all right and I was well compensated.

Any comms since have been swift and I am happy with the actual product. Many friends have Canyon road and mtb bikes and everybody raves...

Thanks for all the feedback. I might have to wait as the Spectral is in high demand, no deliveries before end of September in my size. Hopefully demand will slow after the summer and there might be winter deals when the 2019 bikes are announced.

Haven't ridden the Spectral but Canyon thought enough of it to take it along to their demo day at Revolution Bike Park back in May. That says it all in terms of how capable it must be.

I think UK customer service is better than it has been; they suggested as much at the demo day and its a decent statement of intent from them holding such a day anyway.

I did have a ride on the Torque and it was absolutely amazing (the Lyrik is something else). I think the Spectral CF 9.0 is the sweet spot in the range TBH; basically a Fox factory fork and much better wheels than the CF 9.0 pro. If you had the cash to go for it though, the trouble with going for the CF 9.0 SL is that you can get the Cube Stereo 140 TM for £1000 less but equally as good spec.

Indeed but when I look at the CF8.0 at £2699 I can't fault it as I am more of a RS man, I have the tools to service the forks etc. GX 12 speed and DT Swiss 1700 is pretty decent for the money. I don't even mind the rear end being aluminium as I am not light !

Just be careful you don't damage the frame. A mate of mine bought the previous gen Spectral Al and bent one of the seatstays last year and the best they can do for him is to replace the entire frame at a slightly reduced crash damaged price. Apparently this is the case for all models, old and new.

Bike insurance is a bargain for the peace of mind. I pay next to nothing and claimed a damaged road bike last year, full refund. Essential imo.

That's disappointing that they don't sell the rear triangle separately!
