Off to a quick start

If I am reading the tracker correctly

https://frrt.org/endtoend2018/r/1-michael

he was through CP15, at which he was due at 1957, at 1921

and an average of 22.7mph for the first 12 hours

Looks on target at the moment, but I guess most of the troubles come at the end.

250 miles to go.

If that's how you are supposed to read it (and I certainly don't have a better suggestion) he has suddenly slipped back from being well ahead of schedule to only 6 minutes ahead (at CP43). I hope it's all part of the plan. Perhaps a scheduled stop.

bad weather has knackered him by the look of it

seems to have got a 24 hour record - tbc

but CP45, due at 1712, arrived at 1721

The schedule is well inside the current record, so if his neck holds out he should do it!

A work mate completed Lejog yesterday afternoon after 9 days in the saddle and battling through Hector on his ride through Drumochter. Absolutely great effort and something I wish I could still manage but know it’s beyond me. He had heard of Michael’s attempt and alerted me to it so I’ve been tracking both of them over their rides.
I can’t even get my head around being able to do that distance in less than 44 hours, incredible, brilliant, superb, use any superlative you want.

Well done to the new record holder. It sounded like it was going down the pan at one point.

Not a single mention on either BBC or ITV's news websites...

(Unless I've missed it)

I had a look too and couldn't find anything...

Fantastic effort. I can't even get my head round the whole thing.

Fair play to him! Some serious pedaling there!

Is he going to ride back down now?
