Bit of a long shot but does anyone know of a pickup / tailgate pad that fits or is recommended for the VW Amarok and is readily available to buy in the UK? Very popular in the USA but not very common in the UK. Cheers

Something like this..

From what I've heard they are not great if you are keen on keeping your paintwork scratch free

I see a lot of Evoc branded ones in France.

No idea if you can get them cheaper elsewhere - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Evoc-Bike-Transport-Tailg...

I picked one up from a shop called bike tart. Dakine DLX - £70 odd.

It's got a soft inside so as long as tailgate is clean you should have any issue. They're hard to find so check out eBay as there are a few places that don't advertise on their normal sites but do on eBay.

You'll need a small too.

Cheers guys, just bought the Dakine one - £90

Thanks AGK - I ordered the small - my tailgate is 140cm (Amarok). I wanted the Raceface tailgate pad but would need to order from the USA = approx £150 with delivery and import tax

I’ve got a product that works for pick up trucks, without denting or scratching the down tube. We launched it at the Cycle Show in Birmingham two weeks ago. We are 3 weeks away from production.

I don’t know whether the forum rules allow me to link to our website. Pm me if you are interested.

Done.

I also took the opportunity to update the car photo, it being 5 cars out of date.

1100mm wide.

That reminds me, we’ll put the dimensions on the website.

Cheers - I've been playing with bike transport solutions for my motorhome and liked the look of your system, it is very clever yet very simple. Unfortunately though I think 1100mm is too wide to fit in the space I have in the rear garage.
