I have no clue about this stuff, so I'm after some help. I've been given a box of goodies, that I could potentially fit to my bike, but want to know if it's worth it.

My bike is a Cannondale F3 (2009), these have come from a Orbea X40.

Current spec:
suspension: Rock Shox Recon XC
brakes: Avid Juicy five
Shifters: Shimano SLX
derailure: Shimano deore XT

Goodies I could fit:
brakes:Formula Italy C1
shifters: SL-M610
derailure:Shimano XT (for some reason has a 'ON' Switch)

Thanks.

The switch on the new rear mech is the "shadow+" mechanism, basically a friction damper on the jockey wheel cage that helps to stop the chain dropping off on bumpy sections at the expense of shift quality. Worth having if you do lots of technical trails, but not the massive deal that Shimano make it out to be.

I think the sl-m610 shifters are Deore level kit? So your SLX ones are from a higher groupset although possibly older? Would keep them for spares, probably not worth the effort of swapping them over.
