Morning chaps,

I need my Allez Race serviced, it's never been serviced (2,000 miles) other than a mate adjusting the gears and trued the wheels once, I've cleaned it regularly, and lubed the chain etc but nothing much mechanical.

I'm in Ride London this year so need to give it a good going over, and some adjustments/freshen up. The chain is dropping off in the highest gear if on a hill, and is clicking/ticking if I put much power through the pedals in other gears, seems to shift ok though.

Who's recommended in the area? I'm in Camberley, but work in Guildford so anywhere within 10/15 miles from this area.

Cheers!

Griffs cycles in Crowthorne are decent, I've had them do a few jobs on my road and mountain bikes.

Spokes in Bagshot are probably your closest shop. Open today.

From the original post, it appears the stops need doing on the derailleurs to stop the chain coming off, it also may be worn enough for replacement. Also the bottom bracket sounds like it either needs greasing or more likely replacing, so any of the services that cover that.

I bought a Defy from Spokes a couple of years ago. Their mechanic is very good. He's done work for me on the spot and not charged me a thing. Only a 2 minute job but still pretty good.

I'd recommend Spokes, very friendly local business and mechanic is great. I would just go in or call them and explain what you've written here and they'll tell you honestly what type of service you need - they're not the type to sell you more than you need.
