I have just noticed that the sidewalls on my Michelin Power Competition (23c) tyres have cracked a little....not sure why they've done this, has anyone got any clues? There is plenty of tread left. Can't recall exactly how old the tyres are, but not that old. When cleaning the tims I often use a degreaser....I'm wondering whether that may have caused it but not sure. Not sure if it's evident in the pic

You can see the centre of the tyre is quite smooth and clean. This "cracking" effect is like that through various sections. It's nothing horrendous, but noticeable. Could it be an indicator of incorrect pressures?

Thanks

Jimbo.

Wouldn't worry about it. Just another mark tyres pick up when being battered against the ground..

Looks like the scrubbing effect of cornering to me. Probably nothing if the tyre is not old enough to be cracking.
