I've had a set of these for a year/2000ish miles and they've been perfect for the money - comfy and hard-wearing. Just about to buy another set because I've somehow lost one of them.

I think the ones I have are sort of in between these - real leather palm with gel and synthetic backs. I got them on sale about 3 years ago and they have lasted very well.

I usually get a pair of Roeckl if I can find them. Not cheap, but v comfy and long-lasting. These are probably closest to OP request...
