confused - Schwalbe Pro One with tubes

My new bike (Candondale Synapse Hi-Mod Team) is running these tyres which can be used tubeless but it has come from the factory with tubes. The tyre says inflate to between 60 - 85 psi on the side which seems very low, I run 120psi in my other bike (Boardman Road Team Carbon).

Help! Planning my first ride tomorrow morning and have no idea what psi to run.

Run them at the same pressure as you usually run. Tubeless can be run lower because you don't have tubes to pinch.

25 or 28c?
I've been running those tyres in 28c size and run them at 80psi. I'm 90kgs, so if you're lighter, id run them a little softer. trust me they are pretty quick tyres and the low pressure is fine. my bike is a synapse black inc.
if they're 25c then go 85-90psi.

They are 28s. Funnily enough I whacked 80psi in there earlier and it felt quite firm.

hmmm, something not right somewhere!

Managed 20k this morning and then the front went flat - turned out to be a big split around the seat of the valve. very smooth roads, no impact - so probably not a pinch puncture?

First time I've run without a spare inner tube etc in spare drink bottle so had to call the missus out. Not a good first ride!

I run the 28s, tubeless, on my distance bike. I start at 70psi but they have dropped as low as 25-30psi at times and always been secure. Great tyres.

They are supposed to be very good yes, particularly in tubeless format but for the moment I am running them WITH tubes and I am confused as to what has occurred with the split/pinch around the tube where the valve sits. maybe they were not correctly installed at the factory - I ran them at 80psi so not exactly soft, but perhaps soft for tubed (given that on my other bike I run at 120 psi). The bike is on the Canondale Hollowgram carbon rims.

Some Schwalbe inner tubes have been known to fail at the valve bit, that's prob what happened.

It's easy to go tubeless though, bit of Stans fluid, loads of guides ont web.

..and tubeless ready rims! A ghetto set-up on a non-tubeless rim may be safe with the low pressure of an MTB tyre but not with a high pressure road tyre...

Installation and maintenance of tubeless can be a bit of a faff until you've acquired the knack. I've done it about 3-4 times now and I'm finally able to do it without swearing and looking like a Ghostbusters extra afterwards. A shock pump, compressor or Airshot is kind of essential. Pleased to say I've had no issues with it out on the road so far. Just benefits.

The synapse has tubeless ready rims

I set up my winter bike tubeless this winter, it came with Stans Grail rims which needed taping and some valves, some Schwalbe g-one speeds and a bit of Stans and it has run perfectly all winter, does need a bit more air occasionally than tubed tyres but was ace over the Roubaix cobbles.

But someone without a Synapse Hi-Mod Team might have taken your advice without realising that they need more than just Stans.... Better to qualify it than have someone lose their teeth after their front tyre burps cornering at speed, don't you think?
