Which Mountain Bike under £400
Discussion
The Budget was supposed to be £350, but I have seen this Calibre two V2 at go outdoors and what reviews I can find look good

What do those in the know think of this?
Accept for various reasons budget is firm at £400 maximum.
Also I do not have the time or desire to buy second hand at all!
Wii be used on canal towpath, trails , nothing too demanding.
Is there anything else that I should be looking at?

I don't know much about Go Outdoors, but have you looked at decathlons offerings, my dads just bought a 520, which he uses, on flat gravel trails, woody trails etc and seems perfect for his riding and really well put together, and a quick look shows the new rock rider 540 has hydraulic brakes like the one you found, but cheaper.

I've also just a second hand but never used Decathlon btwin from eBay and again seems very well screwed together. Not great help on your choice, just food for thought, good luck and enjoy whatever you choose.

We got my son a Calibre 2.2 yesterday after much messing around from Go-outdoors! Seems a really great bike and took it for a hack around. Also played the 15% BH discount code too. Great bit of kit for the price tag.
Not sure if it was just an error setting up or store staff related but the middle gear changer (Sorry not up on the technical terms of these parts) wasnt letting it go up as easy. Simple loosen and adjust slight all is spot on.
