Carbon Giant TCR vs "chipped" mountain Ebike
Discussion
Yesterday i did my work commute on a new Cube Reaction E-bike, its been "chipped" as it were and the speed limiter doubled to 50Km/h.
Best i have ever done the 15 and a bit miles is 51minutes on my Giant TCR Carbon, on the E-bike its was 47mins.
Interestingly the giant TCR was faster on the flat and downhill, I mapped it on Strava, (dont worry ive locked the recording so its private!) the Ebike hits the 50k (31mph) limit and thats it, its almost 3 x the weight of the TCR and you are bolt upright, so without power assist thats it, where as the TCR i am over 40mph in places.
I got KOM on a few uphills on the Ebike (Now deleted!), but did i get a work out on it? Yes, i couldnt get it to go any faster!!
I got the Ebike for the Missus by the way after my bikes were burgled, i got it to replace the mountain bike i very rarely ever used any more...
