Anyone got one?
Thinking about making the (fairly substantial ) leap from my Road Team Carbon and keeping that for a Winter roadie.
After British cycling discount comes in at around £4,750. Good value? Anything else out there to consider?

Hi , no experience of the boardman , but I have just bought a trek emonda SLR8 with the H2 geometry , I can say truly amazing bike only ridden it 3 times but wow what a bike , got a good deal also with a lot of cash off as a 2016 bike , it has treks best carbon frame , 700 OCLV , full dura ace and a good set of lightweight bontrager wheels , there is of course plenty of choice , so look at as many bikes as you can
I upgraded my 2013 boardman road comp to a 2014/15 Boardman SLS 9.2 (full Ultegra including wheels) at the end of last year and from the rides I got in before packing it away for winter loved it. I picked it up via the boardman outlet (on the website) where there was ( & still is still is) an extra 10% of the already discounted prices. I then phoned Boardman direct and after some more haggling ended up paying £1360 for it with a shorter carbon stem also thrown in. I would have gone for the DI2 9.4 but annoyingly they had all sizes apart from mine.
Its worth checking out what they have still have size wise at the outlet ATM as I'm pretty sure its the same frame as the SLR Endurance just with a different paint job. The SLS 9.8 comes with full Sram Red 22 and Mavic Kysrium Elite wheels. They only have the XXSl, XL or XXL but if thats your size its a great bike for at most - £2250 and if you can pull a deal like I did you might be able to get close to £2k. If you are sold on electronic shifting you could swap out the shifters and derailleurs for just a smidge over £1k and sell the bits you take off for around 2-300 id imagine - I see no reason why it wouldn't be an easy swap over but perhaps check with someone more knowledgable first. Thats then a monster of a bike for potentially £2700/£2800.
I reckon theres more value in doing something like above - you could even do it with a lower spec SLS and chuck Di2 or Etap on it. A SLS 9.2 could come in at just over 2k with a partial Etap groupset and selling the bits taken off (again check that the Etap would be compatible with the ultegra cassette and chainset).
One of my buddies did this instead of buying a trek domane new - he bought a frame then added the bits (Etap) - he did have the advantage of already having a decent set of wheels he ported over but reckons he saved over £500 on buying the bike even when taking the wheels into account.
I'd basically be looking to buy last years model otherwise your paying premium price. I almost bought a Trek Emonda SL8 like the fella above - it was a great bike with Dura Ace and I had an option on one at £1800 but some unexpected car bills at the time lead me to reign in the bike budget a little - shame as I love white bikes.
Im sure you won't regret the 9.9 even at full price. I'm looking forward to getting back on the SLS as its a real lightweight compared to my road comp and climbed so much better - it really felt quite spritely.

Yep, started off thinking I would buy an outlet bike but nothing left in my size! Spoke to the guys at Boardman today.
Particularly like the Y14/15 SLS 9.8 but can't find one - even the framesets they have left are too big / small. Grr.
That is what led to budget creep ... I know logically I should wait until end of the year ..!

Still think the Boardman is crazy spec for the money, but apparently discs and DI2 are the way to go ... and someone has advised me that all the kit in the world on the Boardman won't make up for a lesser frame compared to something like Cannondale, whether this is true or not I have no idea.
