So, as we don't have a dedicated thread for 'road' bikes with fatter tyres than 'normal' with disk brakes and additional attitude, I thought I would start one. Show your bikes, or put any related info in here. I will be building one in the not too distant future but might be a nice area to share pics, stories, adventures etc.
Mango Bikes unleashed a new one yesterday. I don't care how it rides but it certainly LOOKS great. Bravo to them. I wish them lots of success with it.

Incredible you have invented the cyclocross bike, what would we have done without this
Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I didn't invent anything. Pure cyclocross bikes are designed for riding around fields, not riding to work.

I've got a Kaffenback, it's too dull to photograph.
Neither of my CX bikes have bottle mounts or mudguard eyes.
Nor has mine, whilst it's great fun hammering it across the potholes and parks on the way to work Id rather ride something with full mudguards on the commute, at the weekend however..................Neither of my CX bikes have bottle mounts or mudguard eyes.

Anyway, the CX bikes for commuting thing, I tried with two (Boardman CX and Kinesis 6) and they were pretty crap on the road. Steep head angles and stupid overlap on the Kinesis especially. The gearing was too short for the road and high for serious off road...aaaarrrrrrgghhhhhhh I f
king hate CX bikes they're s
t.
This new wave have low BB's and relaxed geometry. I can't wait to get proper hydraulic discs on a road bike and wheels full of anti puncture sperm myself

BTW you been racing much?

That gearing aint pulling up trees :P
No, but if you spin it like you little legs are on fire, it can get a wriggle on

Was down your way for Torq, Erlestoke 12 this weekend, so just lots of long stuff. You doing much, entry went live for brass monkeys the other day, now entered again for all rounds as a fatty.I'm riding a 2015 Cannondale CAADX Tiagra for work, although I may sort some wheels with proper CX tyres (currently have Schwalbe Sammy Slicks) and have a go at a local CX race. For work it's pretty much perfect. It isn't light, particularly now it has big full mudguards, but it takes on the rough gravel path that forms 20% of my journey really well and I quite happily ride it on tarmac. A few other guys here that live in my part of town ride Genesis CdF and Boardman CX bikes. We've been competing on the 2km segment along the gravel path most of the summer!
When i first bought the bike i was new to cycling and it didn't feel that much worse on the road than my road bike. Now my fitness is better it does feel harder to ride but part of that is running 35mm tyres at 60psi rather than 25mm tyres at 110psi i think.
