I did, owned a chrome Puch Invader for about 4 years before it was stolen 88 to 92

stolen the very night I had just restored it that day to 95% like new condition.

It had a new set of MX calipers and MX levers fitted and new tyes as well.

Was a hoot to ride, totally unbreakable and lord know I tried a lot to break it.

so who else had one when they was young, and now looking back now is wondering why they are not dead?

Mine was like this, but the blues where black

I did have something very cheap and instantly forgettable. It was called a Panther something or other and was Chrome with yellow IIRC. Pretty sure it had yellow mag wheels that cracked the first time I landed hard on the table top at our local BMX course.

In fact, it seems so obscure that I can't even find pictures of one on the interwebs.

Still, it was slightly better than the Grifter, my dad had turned into a BMX for me.

If that makes me sound ungrateful, I wasn't, I loved both of those bikes. And probably did hundreds if not thousands of miles on them.

That looks similar to what mine was, but mine had Suntour stem, Renthal handle bars, Z rims, remember those? They were supposed to bend back, but didn't...
I always wanted some Skyways (wheels) or a PK Ripper, only one guy in the village had one and everyone used to salivate over it.

I never really could wheely mine

But that's because I had the seat at the right height, and bars slightly forward, you know, what actually made it handle rather than pose.

Still got my Mag Burner sitting in the garage, I'll be letting my eldest loose on it very soon :-)

Need to find a source for a few parts first though to give it a refresh.

I had a few BMX's 'back in the day', used to race them at the BMX track in Slough......happy days!

I was recently given a classic Diamondback that had been sat in a friends garage for years without turning a wheel, £30 and a lot of elbow grease and it's my son's hack!

I had a falcon-pro Street Flyer... I absolutely loved it to bits. I'm gutted that it was stolen from my parents garage some time in the 90s before I had chance to rediscover it. Would have been amazing to be restoring it now for my sons.

Yeap, 1st BMX I had was a Team Karate in the early 80's

Started racing, that then progressed to just riding for fun, never stopped, started racing again a few years ago, stopped that now due to to many injuries but still ride most nights.

List of bikes is long...but noticable rides include a JMC Shadow and an SE Quadangle, currently ride a S&M Speedwagon smile

Me too. Regretfully I sold it for 50 quid to someone who promptly lost it to thieves.

I had a Falcon Pro Freestyler.

It was white with orange mag wheels, It has twin top tubes, and welded on stunt pegs on the forks and near the rear wheel fasteners.

I fitted a spinner headset, and also stunt peg wheel nuts and loved it!

The local skatepark in Edinburgh (Transgression PArk) had one with green wheels a few years ago 0 comparing it to modern bikes it was very heavy and totally different geometry.

It came after my old Grifter Mk2 (the one with full length mudguards) and felt like a rocket after the weight of the Grifter.

I had a bit of a mashup BMX back in the day.

I remember it had a Mongoose racing frame, Harrow handle bars and headset. Bulldog brakes, Redline grips and disc crank. It had some sturdy metal pedals and some anodised multispoke wheels too. I had a lean back seatpost fitted (I forget the brand) and classic hard plastic seat.

It was a fully chrome frame which needed polishing every week to keep it looking mint smile Loved that bike, so stupid swapping it for a SNES and games (which I still own actually) just because I had bought a new mountain bike and couldn't fit both in the shed frown

I missed the whole BMX thing. My mates all had Grifters and I was blessed one birthday with a Grifter GS in black with red decals. I was the envy of the town, until ET came out and a few weeks later everybody had cool light stunt BMX's while I still had the 3 tonne Grifter. My mates would all be doing jumps off ramps and I'd come along and the ramp would collapse under the weight. Still, I'm not bitter...

My parents bought me the BMX as I broke my arm in two places because I had the Grifter and was jumping it with my BMX mates = crashing a lot.

Grifters were terrible, I still remember the pain that the slipping gears caused me.
Luckily my parents got sick of my whinging and got me a Mongoose after what seemed a lifetime to a young me.
