What gloves/mitts?

Need a new pair of mitts, wondering what everyone is wearing?

My first pair, Altura Pro Gel have lasted about 2 years.. But there must be better out there.

I have some mid-price Endura mitts that have lasted exceptionally well. But gloves are a bit like shoes and saddles - don't listen to recommendations, pop along to your LBS and try various brands/sizes.

Try them on and then grip some bars, try them on the hoods, the drops etc. I like really thin ones with minimal padding as its inevitably in the wrong position for me!

I've been wearing Aldi's £3.49 mitts for the last year, they're pretty comfortable and seem to wear well. (I commute daily)

Although I recently splashed out £5.99 on some Deko mitts to go with my new bike...

Just a couple of cheap skate options...

unless you want to risk a potentially nasty case of gravel rash I'd highly recommend it.

I've been trying to find some decent mitts as well but everything seems to have weird gel inserts and/or no closures which make it almost impossible to get your hand into gloves that otherwise fit. Does anyone know of anything similar to the campagnolo mitts from a few years back that had proper padding in them?

Been wearing them, although take them off when climbing as my hands get to hot!

I took mine off mid climb and did prefer it.

Agree with the above about gel insert, I find it moves a bit and isn't in the most comfortable position.

I've been thinking a fair bit about summer mitts recently.

I moved house last Christmas and during the move found 2 pairs of mitts that I used when I was racing about 30 years ago.

They have a leather palm with a lycra back. The palm has very little padding if any at all other than the layers of leather itself and there is no snot pad either, but they are soooo comfy that I won't wear anything else at the moment! ALso, I find that synthetic palmed mitts stink after a week or two of sweating into them, but these never seem to smell at all.

It'd be nice if I could track down the manufacturer to see if they still make them. I've attached a pic to see if anyone else recognises the logo - I've tried searching via google goggles but to no avail.

Gloves are quite a personal thing, so its really something to try on in the shop.

I use Castelli mitts. I bought them from Wiggle as I liked the colours. However, they now look a bit pants as all the colours have faded. However, they are still comfortable.

I wear gloves all year round to protect from a road rash if I fall. I'm currently using DHB long finger summer gloves even though its hot enough for mitts. However, I recently reorganized all my cycle stuff and I can't remember where I put the mitts!

I feel completely naked on my bike without a pair of mitts or gloves. Wear them for every ride, without fail!

Got a pair of these a couple of months ago and they are very, very comfy. Personally, while disliking the term, love the retro look.

Also when you invariably need to wipe your face the back of the glove takes the sweat/snot/road grim rather than it going on your hand and running around onto your palm/bars- yuck!

The best gloves/mitts are the ones that fit irrespective of brand, I've got some random Italian ones at present, nice fit with small gel pads and no itchy stitching on the inside.

I have a few different brands of gloves but got these yesterday for commuting in, really impressed for £3 delivered. PX have quite a few styles for the same price, they also have Carnac gloves for £5 which are decent as well.
