Suspension forks help

The Judy TTs (don't laugh) on my ageing kona kahuna have given up the ghost, probably a blessing as I've read how st they are. I've had a look for replacements on eBay and chain reaction but I'm baffled by the choice. As the bike's worth SFA I don't want to be spending hundreds on new forks so I think used is the way to go.

Obviously I don't want to throw good money after bad but perhaps with decent set of forks and a replacement rear shock it could be a decent bike again.

Any advice about which way to go would be appreciated. What forks all should I get? Or maybe a different approach? Although the bike is old it has some reasonable bits on it: hope brakes and hubs/mavic rims so I think it could be good enough for me on the trails at Cannock once a week.

Have a look at the Buy/sell section on www.pinkbike.com to see if you can find something worthwhile on there. There are also plenty of second hand frames if you fancy upgrading to something more worthy of your new forks. Be warned, though. It's addictive!

I upgraded the crappy Manitou forks that came with my old full susser to some Rockshox Reba SLs around 7 or 8 years ago, and they're still going strong, now on a hardtail I built up on a second hand frame to reuse all the bits of that old full susser that were too good to bin when I replaced it with a new bike. If you're not planning to do anything too brutal with them, they make a cracking trail fork.
