Turbo Trainer - Will a Turbo Trainer Tyre fit an MTB?

OK, I admit it. I'm trying to get a Turbo Trainer set up on the cheap.

I have an unused 26" MTB that I might as well use on the turbo trainer, after getting a Turbo Trainer specific Tyre.

Will it fit?

yes, I have my mountain bike set up on a turbo. they do training tyres for mtbs as well - don't use a knobbly tyre - they melt! (don't ask how I know this)

This sounds like a stupid thing to say but I feel it should be said - you'll need a 26" tyre, any 26" slick tyre, but a normal 700c wont fit.

Not stupid at all. I don't currently have a road bike / tyre to switch over and find out. I don't know what width a 700c is

I was assuming I'd need a 26" tyre, it's more the width I was worrying about.
So long as something like the 26" version of Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer Tyre will actually fit an MTB -and it sounds like it- then I'm away

Yep I have the Vitoria red 26 tyre above. You will also need a 26" 1-1.5" narrow inner tube. No bike shops seemed to stock these so eBay it was £3.69
