Tenerife - Puerto Santiago - Cycle hire.

Hi all,
I'm off to Tenerife on Tuesday on a last minute deal and it's my intention to have a hack up Tiede.
Question is: Where to rent from? What are your experiences.
I'll also only really need the bike for 1 day but it looks like I might have to rent it for 3 days minimum.
Has anyone got any stories of Tiede ascents?

Hired an Ultegra Carbon Planet X from http://www.probikehire.com/ who may have now sold up the business (oops)
I stayed in the quieter, greener, Northwest of the island and took the opportunity to do the FULL climb, i.e. sea level (bottom) to cable-car (top)
It was in May and the temp was not too hot at the bottom, and only dropped a couple of celsius towards the top.
The decent was actually soaking wet, as a low cloud had appeared, making visibility <20m which was a little hairy. I was glad I took a thin waterproof and arm warmers.
Water should be available to buy at the cable car place at the top.
Concentrate on the fast bendy descents! As long as your road position is sensible you should be OK, just don't relax too much!
Forgot the chap's name, but you might come across a local bloke on a badly indexed MTB who climbs fast and has dance music playing. Apparently he's up there all the time !
I'd definitely take a camera if you can. I was snapping shots all the way up

I used Bikepoint who had Focus bikes and they deliver and pickup from your hotel/villa.The climb is superb with the first part from the Los Christianos side being wide with a 2m lined of cycle path and further up the main traffic turns off and you are left with a traffic free ride up to Vilaflor (highest village in Spain) where you can get more water (which you will need).
From Vilaflor to the top is a hard slog but worth the effort but leave yourself 5hrs ride time!

Bikepoint have some really nice looking bike. In fact i'd like to try a Di2 bike as it's something i might upgrade on my current summer bike.
The problem is the 40 euro delivery charge. However i think we may be hiring a car so this might not be an issue.
Unless i can find a hire shop in Santiago.

I'll also be ascending Teide from the west side. Not from Los Christianos. Has anyone else attempted this?

Just to put some closure to this thread. The answer is pretty much no. There is a hire place that in far side of Puerto La Arena but they dont have bike you'd want to ride up Teide on.
The solution i used was to hire a car and drive over to Playa de Americas and hire a very nice BMC from Bike Point.
I'd strongly recommend riding up there if you have the time and the inclination it's incredible. It's fairly steady but so so long. Make sure you fill up with fluids at Vilaflor.

My Stted for this trip. Very nice bike. (Better if the brakes were the right way around!!)
In the clouds at Vilaflor. Theres a little coffee shop to get some water at called La Paz.
PH Jersey of course. I'd look happier if i'd felt a bit healthier!

One other thing; Pretty sure i saw this guy on Teide (on Monday). Can find a away of confirming it though.
