Garmin Edge 200 problem with Strava

For Christmas someone kindly bought me a Garmin Edge 200. So far I love it, a lot better than messing around with the App on my phone. However i'm having an issue with Strava. Initialy when I tried to download and install the Garmin plug-in Chrome blocked it but I was able to get round that and unblock it. So the next two times I plugged it in Strava recognised it straight away and auto-synced the data. However last night Strava couldn't see it again and simply responded like I hadn't installed the plug-in. When I go to the Garmin site it sees the plug-in is installed and can see my device, but Strava can't. I can download the files onto strava by manually selecting them, so there is no issue with the USB connection between the device and my PC.

Anyone had this problem before?

Have you downloaded the Garmin software to the PC not just the plug in?
I upload to garmin direct and it automatically updates Strava and Endomondo

Quite a few friends reporting Garmin to Strava problems yesterday and last night.

As above, I have linked my strava account to Garmin rather than the other way round. I then upload as usual to Garmin and it automatically appears in Strava. You do this in strava by clicking on devices and then if I remember correctly there is the option to login to Garmin.
