Can you identify this bike?

Found this in my Dad's garage. I can't find any reference on the web to Derwent, which I presume is the brand, or Pentworth, which I assume is the model.

I suspect this is a 1980s 'Argos special' but any info would be great as the bike is a bit of a mystery. Dad can't recall where he bought it, but he's getting on a bit!

It does look like a budget 80's touring bike, centre pull Weinmanns & what look like Weinmann wheels with the large flange hubs weren't completely bottom rung tackle though.

Possibly a cheap, resprayed Raleigh looking at the rear brake bridge.

Gazza is definitely on the right lines, looks like it could be a Raleigh Record from the mid to late Seventies based on the saddle, stem mounted shifters and frame design/lugs

That Raleigh doesn't have pump mounts on the top tube. I have no idea though!

I would think you'd be able to find out a bit more info if you can get the frame number from the bottom bracket area?
