Just watched this linked off STW, about the women cyclists in Afghanistan. Seems so wrong for riding a bike to be 'immoral'.

It's all messed up over there. Cycling, football and even kite flying is considered 'risky behaviour' in many areas. Even for men. I can't think of anything less offensive.

I loved that short film. I'd love to see the full version. It gladdens my heart that ordinary young women in places like Afghanistan might secure a little more freedom for themselves in all areas of their lives. However. I fear that as soon as Multinational Forces are gone from there, the situation will swiftly return to how it was before. Sadly, by sticking their heads above the parapet, so to speak, and being the pioneers in women's cycling over there, these girls will have made themselves targets. I pray that they will continue to cycle and thrive in their daily lives, but inwardly, I fear that their dreams will be shattered all too soon.
