Raleigh chopper custom repaint - or something else?!?

So through a strange series of events we have a faded red Raleigh Chopper Mark 3 sat in the car port. It hasn't been ridden for a couple of years and the chrome parts are rather tarnished. However, it seems in good nick and the saddle etc are good.
Was thinking about cleaning it up and flogging it but then wondered about changing the colour to something more interesting and generally sprucing it up. Would only be rattlecan paint job but I've done a few bits before which came up well. Alternatively, was wondering about hydrodipping the frame for a totally custom look.
So far I'm thinking pearlescent white, perhaps a brighter colour such as the older Focus ST green or orange or perhaps some form of Gulf Martini themed effort?

It's not exactly a priceless heirloom so won't feel bad if it goes wrong. But I would like to achieve something interesting and on a budget (say c£50). Any thoughts on fun or unusual finishes?
