Is anyone else doing this tomorrow? I realise 45 miles isn't much for some (probably most) of you, but it has been a while since I did any serious riding and even then I always used to do mountain biking! My single-speed eBay special was never going to be up to it, so I've borrowed a Specialized Allez from a work friend which has really turned me onto road bikes. Depending on how tomorrow goes, this could become a(nother) expensive hobby

Well, had a lot of fun today - far more than I was expecting to be honest. Managed to course in 3h17, which I'm pretty happy with given my zero experience of road riding and almost-zero preparation!

Caught the bug a bit, it's fair to say. Might have also bought the bike I borrowed...







Not bad for £400, I thought.

I was along side some of it as they went through Putney and onto Richmond Park. It was like a wobbly, well spoken critical mass event.

Still everyone was enjoying themselves and the traffic at that point was pretty light. Nice day for it.
