That is an outstanding effort.
Back in the day I was racing a DH in the times before big badass componentry. Pre the original Bomber Z1 in flouro orange and pre full face helmets hitting the mainstream, yes I'm that old. I was running Pace RC36s up front and the stanchions are held into the crown by a pair of allen bolts on each side. You can see where this is going.
I was told later that I pulled the front up to manual through a section and both stanchions dropped out. I woke up with one of St John's finest picking gravel out of my lips. I thought I was doing rather well answering her questions about my birthday and address etc, however my mate informed them I was giving them an address of our student house two years previously. Ho hum!
I'm a bit more proactive with maintenance these days.

That section of PYG is very fast as well, scary enough on a complete bike, let alone one with the handlebars not connected to the front wheel.
Another bike fell to bits coming down Ingleborough, the head-tube snapped off the frame, not much chance of a gentle slow down there.
My bike held up, but I had two heavy falls, I'm battered and bruised today.
