Scratched pike advice

Managed to scratch my rs pike left stanction today. Not too fussed about the cosmetics but worried its gonna leak. Any advice? What can I do to repair or is it a case of wait and see and buy a new csu or new fork when the time comes?

Considered putting nail varnish over it? Is this a urban myth or does it actually work

Take off any sharp burrs then add some nail polish to fill and use some very fine wet dry to level . The danger is the sharp edges wearing the oil seals then causing leaks

Yes nail polish works a treat, could get some black stuff. As said remove burrs and sand down with fine wet and dry with water to lube. Should be able to get it so you can barely see it or detect it with your nail.

I'd use a flat carborundum stone to dress it if you have one.

The edges arent too sharp , so ive rubbed them down slighlty and applied a layer of nail varnish. Gonna give it time to dry and then rub it down again. Its smooth but has a lip where the varnish is.

My front tyre is also loosing air and being tubless i reckon its going to be a pig to re-seal.
