hi what is the best mtb phone mount, i have a Sony z2 so would like something that offered protection in a crash.

A phone inside the 'poncho' is pretty well protected from rain and scratches and its a very strong case/mounting system

In a aqua pac and placed in your back pocket. A safety pin to hold it in if you are worried about it bouncing out.

When do you think you are going to use it on a MTB while riding? you need to stop to talk or use any touch screen apps. maps are hard to see on a garmin 800 mounted on a road bike a so even harder off road.

Crash protection its going to get bashed on your handle bars/stem by what you hit or your legs going over the bars and then the bike falling to the ground so again better in a rear pocket or back pack

Also a bit of a distraction on the trail

I am looking at this from my experiences of riding forest trails and single track etc so country parks and gravel paths could be suitable for a bar mounted phone but then again maybe not.
