boardman bb bearing replcement

hello all. I've had a boardman team mtb for 3 years now. its a 2011 model and has been a super bike. As seemingly all of them do, my bb bearings have failed. once the crank is out can you just knock them out with a drift like you would on say a car wheel bearing? Are they there different size bearings avalible or are they just standard bb30 ones? my bike already has the external bearings and has a funny hollow crank. i.m a competent vehicle mechanic but haven't done anything on a bike before. Normally you replace the cups with bearing included on external BB shells, I imagine that PF30 is similar.

ah, i see. you need a special socket to do it so its probably no different cost if i took it to the bike shop to get it done. once changed i.m hopeful they will last a while!
