Gahhh new tigara cassette won't fit.

Well, my plans have just hut a block and I'm hoping you all can point me in the right direction.

I bought a set of Flucrum 7's for the road bike and a Tiagra cassette, I've just gone to marry the 2 up and the cassette won't fit on the freehub. The hub deffinatly looks Shimano, but its about 4mm diameter too big!

My free hub looks like the one on the left. Howver the cassette only fits down as far as the 2nd bump, about 12mm down from the lock ring



Am I being stupid here and missing something or is something really not right? The person I bought them off said he had taken a 10 speed 105 cassette off them, which is why I bought them, knowing full well a Tiagra cassette would fit.

I bought some fulcrum 3 with what I thought was a 10 speed 105 11-25, after having issues with the gear indexing I counted the cogs and there were only 9. I then put my 10 speed old cassette on and all was well.

The 9 speed cassette had a spacer on it but apart from the free hubs on the fulcrum and axis 2 wheel were the same width.

Did they do the 7s with a 9 speed freehub?

It might be one of the 10 speed only freehubs - did the PO have a 1mm spacer behind the cassette?

I'm using a 10 speed cassette so shouldn't need one. The problem here is I can't physically get the cassette on as the splines on the freehub are too big.

Edit: Would appear that a tiagra cassette won't fit, but any 105 or higher might! Last 2 posts on this thread.
