Pretty low at the front due to the short head tube. Can't imagine everyone finding that comfortable. You see the brand on most of the tours, so can't be bad.

Looks fantastic but can I suggest a bike fit, followed by a budget setting session, followed by a coffee with a decent bike shop to look at bikes that would fit your geo from the fit?

Would be a shame to set your heart on a frameset that could not be made to fit you without upsetting the handling etc.....

I was looking at lots of frames : got a parlee with a longer head tube as it actually fitted, and was a little different to the norm.
Not point looking good and being uncomfortable.. But then again. what do I know...

The Bond looks like a budget, stuck together frame without the usual Cipollini geometry.

It's a very aggressive riding position on that, in 56cm the head tube is 127mm, quite a saddle to bar drop!

Not sure what you could upgrade to from that really though? It's a pro level bike.

Wrong bike for anyone other than an accomplished amateur/pro rider.

I was just emailed about the PX RT-57 for 1200 quid, looks a more rational buy.

You don't want to end a ride after an hour with back pain.

Plus the Cipollini font is st.

If, as with Wilier, the test ride doesn't materialise will you lose interest and spend £20 cleaning the Bianchi?

Seriously though, are there not much better ways of spending that sort of money?

Proper winter bike - 1500
Summer bike (UCI approved of course) - 3000
Aero wheel set - 750

If you loved the Merak why not just get another or something with similar geometry?

Lovely bikes, love the RB1000. But as a said, fitting first - if you are buying from a good LBS fitter and shop, they might refund fit costs above a certain price point (I had retul and follow ups of around 5hrs thrown in with my bike). If they are reputable they won't push the sale but will give you geometry matched bike ideas - it's an expensive mistake if wrong.

As for building a posing bike, why not. Although for the cycling equivalent of sartorial elegance, I must question the pairing of Cipolini and entry level Cosmics. It's like buying a Gucci suit and demanding to see their selection of Crocs to match. Fernwegs for maximum posing points, sell a kid.
