First bike ride in over 10 years...
Discussion
Last year I decided that I'd try cycling into work rather than commuting by train. I bought a newish Boardman Comp, however before I even got a chance to ride it some arse stole it.
grrr
That put me off for a bit but then 2 weeks ago I decided I'd try again but this time I'd buy a folding bike so I can store the bike in my flat rather than leave it in the bike shed.
So I bought a new Brompton and this weekend was my first proper ride. I woke up Sunday morning and thought "in for a penny in for a pound" and decided to ride into London and back, a cool 26 miles.
So I set off on Sunday morning at 7.45. The weather was sunny and pretty cool, before I knew it I was cycling over Tower Bridge, I continued on to Liverpool street as this is the route I'd need to tale to get to my office.
I felt pretty fresh so decided that I'd cycle back (I did take my travel-card, just in case I was too tired and needed to get the train back). Coming back was a lot harder as there are a few more hills.
Overall it took me about 2.5hrs (with a couple of water stops, and taking the wrong turn here and there). I did ache a bit Sunday afternoon but apart from that I was fine. I had forgotten how much fun cycling is, and now I've got the bug for it
I was quite chuffed with myself really, didn't expect to be able to cycle 26miles after going 10 years without a bike.
Going to do it again this weekend with the intention of cycling into work every day within a couple of weeks.

Yes, its just like riding a bike.... oh wait.
Good to hear, and a decent distance, to be clear though is this 26 miles on a little wheeled brompton fold up ?
