Crashes my MTB and broke the lever body - dropped the bike into my LBS a month ago.
Product has been discontinued - no date for new product - it's fairly specialised as the lever body is integrated with the dropper post remote and the shifter.
I need the bike next Friday as I'm going to the Lakes for a week - best thing the LBS can suggest is 'buy some shimano brakes as they are better'
I'm a bit pissed off - as I'm running out of options - anyone else having issues with spares and repairs from SRAM or Fischer?

Sounds like your LBS arent working hard enough to source a part to be honest although if its discontinued I appreciate sourcing it could be tricky... whats the part/number, I'll bet someone here could find one within a few hours, I'd be surprised if a part dropper post related has really been discountinued, they are still fairly new bits of kit...
I have top say SRAM are easily the worst manufacturer (that I know of) for after-sales and parts - the few bits you can find for sale usually cost more than 50% of the cost of a whole new unit, sometimes it's more than buying the whole thing - hydraulic brake levers for example!
I agree with the LBS, buy some Shimano stuff, £4£ they're the best I've ever used, yes Formula and Hope make some beautiful stuff, but Shimano stuff works brilliantly and consistently for a fraction of the price.

I've told them to stick new brakes on it as I've had enough now.
But astonishingly, when I pointed out the fact that the dropper post lever, and the shifter, were integrated into the lever body so they'd need to additional brackets, this was news to them.
It's been in there to fix that very thing, for a month.
New LBS required.

ks sake.The exact lever you need may not be available but there will be a bunch of other levers that will work fine, the integrated shifter and dropper clamp should work fine without the brake (though you should put a spacer in there). As long as it's the sort I think it is I can easily help recommend what you can to do but I'd need to see a pic on the current setup to be sure.

My new Shimano brakes failed miserable over the weekend.
When I looked at them I saw that the discs had cut big grooves in the pads as the entire pad didn't contact the disc.
As soon as the pad could contact itself without contacting the disc the brakes completely failed to operate.
I've just been back to the LBS to explain why you can't fit 203mm calipers to 200mm discs.

What make discs / brakets etc you using?
I understand what the issue is, and how it would occur, but thought that things were in essence interchangable : i've used various discs on 200 (ish) set-ups, and never had this problem.. To my mind it could only occur if they've put washers in spacing the caliper out so you'd need and effective 206mm (ish) disc to have the disc sweeping the entire pad.

A bit late now I realise, but avoid Shimano & SRAM whenever you have other options.
So, they do the best available gear shifters and mechs, and there are no alternatives, but almost all of their stuff is single unit, no spares, in the bin if it breaks. I wouldn't buy their brakes for this reason.
Contrast that with, say, Hope, who have excellent customer service, are based in Lancashire, and will either fix your broken stuff (sometimes for free) or send you parts. This is from personal experience. There must be others too.
