Nearly killed this morning

On my commute in this morning a truck forced me off the road on to a small grass verge. Even on the verge he passed within a couple of inches of me. When his cab went passed me I honestly thought he was going to hit me. I got his reg number when I passed him further up at a roundabout. There were no company names or telephone numbers on the truck or trailer. How can I find out his company form his reg number to report him?

You've got the number: report the matter to the Police.

Sorry to hear about that - glad that you weren't actually hurt.

Please do report it to the police - they might not be able to follow up this time, as Silver940 says. However, if they get repeated complaints, they might be bothered to trace the owner and have a quiet word. And you know, Haulage operators just love having police attention, because they are always 100% compliant with every law aren't they?

Gladyou are ok OP, I had similiar last Friday on a similar road, a arctic passed too close and I almost had to bail down the ditch, scared the st out of me.

Fair comment, worth reporting just don't expect anything much in relation to this incident.

I have a GoPro running on the handlebars these days just in case.

If you report it today the Police will follow it up. These incidents are taken much more seriously now.

We have got all our drivers up to FORS Silver. The sooner it goes national the better.

I have reported it to the police and they have passed it to the traffic bib incase any other reports come in.

Very much doubt it, I got knocked off a few months back, she even gave me a wrong number. I reported it to the Police, they did call me but had no interest as I wasn't badly hurt, wouldn't even give her number. She was taxed/insured etc so no interest. I did my own research and wrote a letter - hand delivered it and she paid for the damage to my bike.

Triggered me to join British Cycling for the Insurance cover too.

Last year some bellend threatened to "knock my F**king block off" from the window of his liveried van, I duly reported it and Police visited both his work and home, turns out he was on his way to work after his missus just filed divorce proceedings against him :-)

Traffic Officer called me back and said he's suggested "road rage Murder threats where unnecessary however bad your life was" and his employer had put him on Warehouse duty for a while to cool off.

As I understand it the Plod take attempted murder seriously too.
